Mobile Banking FAQs

Is my personal or financial information stored on my phone?
No. TCSB Mobile Banking does not save any files with personal or financial information on your mobile device. That information stays strictly within online banking. Some phones have logo and branding files that are copied to the mobile device. Those files do not contain any personally identifiable information.

Which accounts can I access using TCSB Mobile Banking?
You can access any retail account you have set up in TCSB online banking. You select which accounts you want to access during the enrollment process.

How current is the account and transaction information?
When you view your account balance, you see the current available balance. When you view transaction history, you see the most recently posted transactions.

Can I add more than one mobile phone?
Yes. You can enroll several mobile devices for TCSB Mobile Banking. You can add other mobile phone anytime within TCSB Online Banking and then clicking on the Mobile Banking Options Section and selecting the Managing Devices option.

What if my phone number changes?
If your mobile phone number changes, you can simply update your mobile phone number within TCSB Online Banking and then clicking on the Mobile Banking Options Section and selecting the Managing Devices option.  You can change your number anytime.

What if my phone is lost or stolen?
If your mobile device is lost or stolen, no one can access your account without knowing your password and, your unique user name. To prevent unauthorized access to your account, you can deactivate your phone by logging into your TCSB Online Banking account and clicking on the Mobile Banking Options Section and selecting the Managing Devices option.  You can then deactivate the mobile device from accessing the service.

How do I stop using TCSB Mobile Banking on my phone?
To stop using TCSB Mobile Banking on your mobile device, log into your TCSB Personal Online Banking account and click on the Mobile Banking Options Section and select the Managing Devices option.  You will see the option to stop the Service.  

Which mobile service carriers support TCSB Mobile Banking?
TCSB Mobile Banking works on all major mobile service carriers in the U.S. including: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile®, U.S. Cellular®, and Verizon Wireless. TCSB Mobile Banking also works on a number of smaller service carriers plans that support text messaging and short codes.

I have a prepaid plan, can I use TCSB Mobile Banking?
TCSB Mobile Banking works with most prepaid plans, but we cannot guarantee that your carrier supports standard U.S. short codes.

How do I know if my phone has the current software to support the TCSB Mobile app?
Contact the TCSB customer service department for latest updates as phone software specifications often change.


Tips on Mobile Deposit

  • Before logging in to the Mobile Deposit application, you should close all other apps running in the background on your mobile phone.
  • Endorse the back of your check: “For Mobile Deposit Only."
  • When prompted to fill in the amount of the check in the app, enter the check amount exactly as written on your paper check.
  • Folded or crumpled checks should be carefully flattened out before taking photos.
  • Take photos in a well-lit area with solid, dark background.
  • Keep the check image within the view finder on the camera screen when capturing your images.
  • Make sure the entire check image is visible and in focus before submitting your deposit.
  • Take a photo of both the front and the back of paper check.
  • Please ensure the resulting image are clearly focused and contain no shadows, missing corners, missing numbers (i.e. the pre-encoded MICR line).

Important Reminders

  • The Mobile Banking Service may only be used AFTER establishing an Online Banking Account with Traverse City State Bank.
  • The maximum deposit amount is $2,500 per day.
  • Mobile deposits made before 4:00pm EST on a business day will be credited to your account that same day.
  • Mobile deposits made after 4:00pm EST or at any time on a non-business day will be credited to your account the next business day.
  • After submitting check images, please mark on the back of the deposited checks “Electronically Presented”.
  • Deposited paper checks should be stored for at least 60 days in case any follow up or potential error needs to be resolved. After this duration, dispose of paper checks in a secure manner.
